ARC Lead Team Pastor Matt Fry from C3 Church in North Carolina shared some thoughts with his team in preparation for Easter that we thought might be useful and encouraging to you.
As we prepare for the most powerful weekend of the year I want to share with you a few thoughts of encouragement.
Without prayer we don’t have a chance to glorify Jesus. Without prayer Easter can become about us… our clothes, our friends, our needs, our church experience. James 5 tells us that the prayer of a righteous man (or woman) is powerful and effective! Take 5 minutes every day this week to specifically pray for this weekend. Pray for the ministry teams. Pray for the staff. Pray for the message to be received, the worship to be anointed, and the entire campus to be filled with the power of God at work.
2. PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD
The devil hates Easter! He doesn’t want us to celebrate the resurrection. He doesn’t want lives to be changed. Let’s be aware of the enemy. We don’t need to live in fear, but we do need to have our eyes and ears open this week as we prepare and as we lead. Read Ephesians 6 and declare it over your life!
3. BE OUTWARD FOCUSED!
Our campus will be filled with people that are new or haven’t been to church in a long time. Have extra greeters in each area. Make sure to not stay in your comfort zone, green room, etc. this weekend. Look for people that are new and engage them in conversation and tell your Dream Team to do the same thing no matter what team they serve on.
4. PRAY FOR HOLY SPIRIT LED MOMENTUM
I’m believing God for hundreds of lives to be changed, miracles and the supernatural demonstration of the power of the resurrection. I have sensed this year a fresh wind of God moving in our church and I’m believing that not only will our attendance increase but the strength of our leadership, the passion we have for God and the unchurched, the value of everyone inviting their friends every week will overflow.
5. CARRY THE VISION DON’T JUST RECEIVE IT
Share what I’m sharing with you to your team and have them share it with their team, etc. Encourage them to help get the word out. Let’s pack the place out! Do anything you can to post on social media. If you see someone else post something cool or creative to promo Easter, repost it! Tell everyone to get to church early so they don’t miss the opener and so we can get everyone seated before the service starts. Pray for the response time. Let’s pray that at the end of the service many will commit their lives to following Jesus.
I love you and I thank God for you! I am a blessed pastor and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in and through us. Not just this weekend but throughout this year and beyond!
