Recently, ECFA released their first-ever national survey of financial management practices of ECFA-certified churches. The compiled results of the survey address five areas of church finance including financial policies and budgeting.
Just a few of the highlights include:
- Only 4.3% of church financial administrators devote 100% of their time to the financial management role.
- 26% of churches reported “never” or “rarely” budgeting for cash reserves.
- More than 88% of church financial administrators (100% of ECFA-certified churches) said they had strong controls in place to prevent fraud.
