Fighting Fear With “Yes & Amen”

Every decision I ever made that prevented me from growing as a leader can be traced back to fear. Fear makes me angry when I see it rearing its’ ugly head in the lives of the girls I pour into. I see myself in them and thank God that I can be there to look them in the eye and say, “You is smart, you is kind, you is important.”

I’ve realized that when I choose to live in fear I deny the goodness of my God.

Fear is and always will be intimidation inside of your heart. It’s so uncomfortable because it doesn’t belong there! That’s why it matters so much that God’s promises be planted deep within us so we can stand on his Word at all times, even when fear tries to take root.

Mark 13:31 is an astounding promise that we forget about so easily, Jesus said,  “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will NEVER pass away.”

The Word of God says that His promises are Yes & Amen. That means they are guaranteed, no doubt about it, done deal, promises. We must hide the Word in the whole of our hearts so fear has no room to move in. He has promised us peace, joy, and confidence in him and in who he has called you to be! The more you claim promises, the more you claim power over fear. If Jesus refuted the lies of the devil with God’s Word, don’t you think we should too?

When I feel afraid I ask myself 3 things:
1. Where is this fear coming from? Anything that causes worry, doubt and confusion doesn’t come from our good God.

2. How will my response to it help/hinder the furthering of the Kingdom of God? Nothing is accomplished for the kingdom when we are intimidated.

And 3. What would Christine Caine do?

Just kidding…only a little.

We are promised so much! It’s time as women in leadership that we start to fight fear with our Father’s words! If we started to do the opposite of what fear made us feel like doing, maybe we could start a revolution of faith for his glory!

Accept NO limitations because our God is a God without limits! Satan will always convince you that limitations are king, but we know our God is King forever, over every lie, over every doubt!

You CAN stand up! You CAN speak up! You CAN reach out! You CAN live healthy and whole! You CAN reach your goal! You CAN do it!

When fear tempts you to stick your head in the sand or back away from a challenge, put your dukes up! If we don’t fight fear, we can’t expect those that come behind us to know how. Think of the victories we could rejoice in if we had no fear!  There’s no regret when we trump a lie of the enemy with a promise from our Father.

“For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ].” – 2 COR. 1:20 (AMP)
