Perhaps one of the most difficult things for youth leaders is transiting students into different areas in the church. There are tensions, but there is importance in the transition. Heather Lea Campbell from Youth Specialties writes an article on the stress and significance of transferring students from children’s ministry to youth ministry, middle school to high school, and finally transferring out of high school and into “big church”. Campbell encourages us to keep in mind that transitions are not a “graduation,” but rather something to be remembered and celebrated all while giving helpful guidance on how to navigate the changes.
