I don’t know about you, but I get convicted sometimes when I hear the stories of people who have this supernatural, huge amount of faith, that I don’t have. I wonder what causes them to keep going when others want to give up. I once heard the story of a church planter who knocked on doors for seven years with very little success before his church finally took off and grew to a church of thousands. I would’ve given up at some point. There’s no way I would have made it seven years without success. So what, what did he see that I didn’t see? It reminded me of the story of Elijah in 2 Kings chapter six.
The king of Abraham had sent a huge army to surround Elijah and his servant. Maybe you feel like that in the natural. Maybe you feel surrounded. Maybe you feel surrounded by difficulty, discouragement. Maybe you feel like someone’s coming against you, that you’re not strong enough or a financial problem, or hurt, or something that seems overwhelming to you. But what happened in that story is Elijah turned to his servant. When the servant says, look, we’re overwhelmed. He says, father, open his eyes so he could see. Greater those that are with us than those that are against us. There were chariots of fire all around that led them to victory that day. I want to tell you today, greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.
When you look at your situation, don’t just look at the natural, look at the supernatural. It says in Matthew 6:33 to seek His kingdom first and His righteousness and He will give all of these things onto you. That’s what I want to believe for you today. I believe God wants to give you His best. I believe He wants to add to you. It doesn’t matter what our structures are, what our systems are, what our strategies are, what our strength is. It matters who our God is. Not by power, not by might says in Zachariah 4:6, but by My spirit. I believe by His spirit, you will have success and will prosper.
