At Emmaus, we believe in growing and journeying with you in creating a safe secure church. Our packages naturally progress from Launch to Elevate to Sustain, reflecting your church’s developing safeguarding maturity.
Based on our experience, most churches take approximately one year to complete their Launch journey and another year in the Elevate program before transitioning to the Sustain package for ongoing support and development.
Emmaus will be there every step of the way, providing guidance tailored to your church’s unique needs and progress. We understand that every church moves at its own pace – some may progress more quickly through the stages while others may need additional time to fully implement each phase. This flexibility is built into our approach, ensuring you’ll receive the support needed to build a robust safeguarding culture, regardless of your timeline.

Emmaus emerged from humble beginnings in Cyprus, where founder Jim Dyson established Praesidio Global in 2018 while serving as a Pastor with his wife Trudi and their children in Limassol. Drawing upon his extensive safeguarding and events expertise, Jim developed his consultancy vision abroad. Upon returning to the UK, Jim and Trudi transformed the enterprise into a limited company, methodically building a formidable consultancy practice.
Jim brings over 25 years of experience in public safety and safeguarding to his role as CEO of Emmaus Global. His distinguished background in policing, where he served as a senior commander, provided invaluable experience managing complex operations and ensuring public safety.
His police service included leading security operations for high-profile events such as the Olympics, NATO Summit, and UEFA Champions League Final. As a strategic firearms commander and critical incident leader, he developed expertise in careful planning and clear communication—skills that now guide Emmaus Global’s worldwide operations.
Leading organizations trust Jim’s practical approach to safeguarding. He advises UNICEF, the Premier League, international charities, and global faith organizations on protecting vulnerable people and ensuring proper governance. His work spans from developing safety programmes for sports academies to reviewing safeguarding measures for global events, including expertise in emerging areas such as esports safety.
Jim holds a Master’s degree in Leadership and Management from Warwick Business School, a Higher Certificate in Education in Child Protection, and professional qualifications in safeguarding and strategic command. This combination of practical experience and formal training enables him to address complex safeguarding challenges with a thorough, measured approach.
