For Luke and Emma Bryant, planting a church wasn’t part of the plan. Luke spent over a decade as a police officer, and ministry wasn’t on their radar. But as they looked around their home city of Liverpool, they saw church attendance on the decline. Traditional models weren’t working, and they knew something had to change.
“We felt an overwhelming sense that the call of God was on our lives to start a church in our home city. The way church was being done wasn’t working, and if we wanted to reach people, we needed to create an environment that made it easy for them to follow God.”
With a bold vision to change lives for Christ one life at a time, Luke and Emma launched Liverpool One Church. Nearly ten years later, their church has become a thriving hub of faith in the city. But the journey wasn’t easy.
Like many church planters, they started from scratch—with no ministry background and no established connections. The weight of leading a growing church was compounded by personal hardships, including a season when Emma was diagnosed with cancer. Sundays kept coming, the church continued to grow, but behind the scenes, they felt overwhelmed and alone.
“We wouldn’t want anyone else to go through what we did—trying to juggle everything without support. When we learned about ARC, we realized there was a better way.”
